This is a Asset Template/Renpy files to create a 2D Side Scroller in the Renpy engine.

THIS IS A TEMPLATE - Its meant for you to build on top of, however the base functions it has, you can make a fully open world game. Any crazy mechanics will need to be provided by you!

I recommend if you consider purchasing this template that you check your PC specs as depending on the sizes of the images/amount of images on screen and your CPU the game might lag. 

The asset has been tested on various laptops and desktops equipped with Intel i7 and i9 processors (or their AMD equivalents), where it performed exceptionally well. It is likely to run smoothly on systems with Intel i5 processors as well, depending on the generation, though this has not been explicitly verified. However, performance was notably poor on the Surface Pro 4, where it exhibited significant slowdown, resembling a slideshow. Please note that this asset has not been tested on macOS or Linux systems.

If you are running CPU intensive programs in the background it could cause extreme lag and also physics errors/bugs. I am of course looking into fixes but as of now I did the best I could to mitigate it.

This does not completely alter Ren'Py, it just mixes elements of open world 2D exploration and visual novel gameplay. Additional free updates will add more to the already feature filled version this is.

In the future will have 3 variants, this current version has 2.5D (lateral and vertical free movement). The future one will have a true 2D version where it is STRICTLY horizontal movement, where vertical will be jumps and gravity controlled, and the last one will be top down movement version so, your buying 3 for the price of one!
